What is L-Tryptophan?
L-Tryptophan is an essential amino acid and the precursor to serotonin. Serotonin is a neurotransmitter responsible for transmitting nerve impulses in the brain, inducing sleep and tranquility, and stabilizing function of the central nervous system. Serotonin deficiencies, which are related to L-Tryptophan deficiencies, are well documented in cases of depression and insomnia. L-Tryptophan helps to naturally enhance relaxation and sleep, relieve anxiety, act as a natural mood enhancer, reduce minor premenstrual symptoms, facilitate gut motility, and reduce cravings for carbohydrates.
What is L-Theanine?
L-Theanine is a natural phytochemical found in Japanese green tea. It is a non-essential amino acid that is present in the brain, and is a close relative of Glutamate. Studies indicate that L-Theanine interacts with the neurotransmitter, GABA (gamma-aminobutyrate). GABA, known for its importance in nervous system functioning, works with the mood centers of the brain. Niacin and niacinamide are precursors of nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide (NAD) and nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide phosphate (NADP), which are essential for oxidation-reduction reactions, ATP synthesis, and ADP-ribose transfer reactions.
Niacinamide is hypothesized to inhibit induction of nitric oxide synthase by interleukin 1 in chondrocytes, reducing inflammation and leading researchers to speculate about its potential use in destructive joint diseases.
What is Vitamin B6?
